Hard_HatYou may be wondering what Health & Safety has to do with Sustainability. Working safely will prevent accidents that will have a negative impact on the environment. Anything that is negative to the environment will also have a negative impact on humans.

Health & Safety training is one more way that makes the Strategic system different from others. Our program addresses Health & Safety as an essential part of making a company sustainable. We review your facility along with members of your team, to see where you stand in your OHSA requirements and safety issues specific to your industry and facility. We train your employees in the proper handling of chemicals and how to work safely in their everyday activities. It’s all included as part of our program.

A safer work environment has many other advantages besides improving your environmental impact. People that work in a clean, safe facility will be happier about the place they work. As a result they will also be more productive. You will have better employee retention and fewer lost time accidents, resulting in workers compensation premiums being reduced.

In addition, your workers compensation and liability insurance company will view your facility to have less risk and will reflect that with lower premiums. And lending institutions are also looking at safety records to help determine interest rate when considering applications.

The Strategic program addresses these issues and supplies health and safety training to all employees including those mandated by OSHA. In addition we will assist in creating safety plans and Standard Operating Procedures to keep your facility clean and safe.

Office Consumables

Much of the waste generated from an office is from common things like envelopes, sticky notes, ring binders and note pads and books. Look for these items from local sources made from recycled material. Look for designs that encourage re-use like re-sealable envelopes and refillable tape dispensers rather than disposable types. Establish an exchange spot where others in the office can put re-useable items such as ring binders, paper clips, rubber bands etc. for use by others.
